Two layers of warranty on every commercial roof

A roof warranty is only as good as the company that has to honor it. When Bayou Roofing installs a commercial roof, you get two distinct layers of coverage:

1. Manufacturer NDL warranty — issued directly by the membrane manufacturer (GAF, Duro-Last, Siplast, MBCI, etc.). Coverage spans 20-30 years depending on system and specifications. "NDL" stands for "No Dollar Limit": if the membrane fails for a covered reason, the manufacturer pays for both material and labor to repair or replace, without a dollar cap. This is the gold-standard commercial roofing warranty.

2. Bayou Roofing 5-year workmanship warranty — covers anything related to how we installed it. Flashing details, fastener patterns, seam integrity, penetration sealing — if there's a problem with our installation in the first 5 years, we fix it. No charge.

What NDL warranties cover

• Manufacturing defects in the membrane
• Premature degradation under normal weathering
• Adhesive or seam failure when installed per manufacturer spec
• Coverage spans wind ratings up to 120 mph (depending on system)
• Hail damage up to specified hail-size rating
• Both material AND labor for covered repairs

What can void a commercial warranty

Commercial roof warranties have requirements. Knowing these protects your coverage:

• Unauthorized penetrations — HVAC contractors, satellite installers, or solar installers adding new pipes or mounts without manufacturer-approved details
• Ponding water — clogged drains and scuppers creating long-term water retention
• Foot traffic damage — unprotected service work, tenant rooftop access
• Lack of documented annual inspections — most NDL warranties require it
• Improperly-installed solar mounts

Our commercial roof maintenance contracts include the documented annual inspections that keep your warranty in force, plus we'll coordinate with your other vendors to make sure rooftop work doesn't compromise coverage.

Filing a warranty claim

Call us first — (318) 256-3107. We handle the manufacturer paperwork on your behalf: inspection, documentation, claim filing, and completion of the warranty repair. You don't have to navigate the carrier's claim process alone. Most warranty claims we file are approved without resistance because the documentation we provide leaves no ambiguity.

Warranty transfers

Buying or selling a commercial property? Most NDL warranties transfer to subsequent owners — typically with a transfer fee ($250-$500) and a transfer inspection. We coordinate transfers as part of real estate transactions, including the required inspection and paperwork.
